Carhartt WIP presents their 50th anniversary Active Jacket in Denim Blue/USA Red.

Carhartt WIP, which stands for Work in Progress, is the casual sub-label of the American workwear brand Carhartt. This European branch was created in 1989, 100 years after the parent company was founded in Detroit, and draws inspiration from its older sibling, adding a dose of streetwear and skatewear to its collections in addition to workwear.

To mark its 50th anniversary, Carhartt WIP is unveiling a new collector's edition of its famous OG Active Jacket, revisited here in sturdy, thick Maitland denim for a raw yet timeless look. Made from 100% cotton and weighing 13.5 oz, this jacket pays homage to the past while asserting a contemporary and technical aesthetic.

It features an original loose fit, faithful to the brand's archives, and incorporates an insulating ‘striped blanket’ lining in the bodice, while the sleeves are lined with nylon for added comfort. The classic kangaroo pocket, adjustable hood and triple-stitched seams reinforce its utilitarian character. The iconic Square Label adorns the exterior denim version.

But it is its reversible design that makes this anniversary piece so unique: the inner side, in the style of a quilted nylon puffer jacket, comes in a USA red colour and features embroidery on the back: ‘Carhartt WIP, Active Jacket Anniversary Edition’. The denim is also faded to give it a slightly worn look without compromising its durability. Designed to be worn on both sides, this jacket combines classic workwear with contemporary street style.
